Rural Lighting Electrical Ready Board Waterproofing Failure? These 3 Details Must Be Noted!

The outdoor environment in rural areas is complex, and lighting electrical ready boards are easily affected by rainwater and humidity, leading to short circuits or equipment damage. Waterproof failures often stem from overlooked details, and the following three key points require special attention:

1. Defects in the sealing design of the box body

Problem: The joints of the box are not tightly sealed, the inlet holes are not sealed, or the sealant is aging and cracking, resulting in rainwater infiltration.

Solution:

Material selection: Stainless steel or engineering plastic boxes are preferred to avoid rusting or deformation.

Sealing process: The joints are filled with silicone sealing strips or waterproof glue, and the inlet holes are sealed with waterproof joints (such as rubber sheaths) or fireproof mud to ensure no gaps.

Regular inspection: Check the condition of the sealing strip every six months and replace aging materials in a timely manner.

2. The installation location does not match the protection level

Problem: The electrical ready board is installed in low-lying or unobstructed areas, with insufficient protection level (IP level) to withstand heavy rainfall or splashing water.

Solution:

Location selection: Avoid low-lying water accumulation areas and install on walls or dedicated brackets that are 30cm or more above the ground, away from trees and eaves dripping water.

Protection level: Choose a electrical ready board with IP65 or higher rating (dustproof and anti low voltage water jet), and it is recommended to directly use IP66 or IP67 for outdoor rural environments.

3. Insufficient balance between internal waterproofing and heat dissipation

Problem: Over sealing the box for waterproofing results in poor heat dissipation of internal components, accelerated insulation aging at high temperatures, and ultimately reduces safety.

Solution:

Ventilation design: Install waterproof breathable valves (such as waterproof respirators) at the top or bottom of the box to balance internal and external air pressure and prevent condensation from forming.

Component layout: Install heating elements (such as circuit breakers) near ventilation openings to avoid heat accumulation.

Waterproof coating: The internal circuit board is sprayed with a three proof paint (moisture-proof, anti mold, anti salt spray) to enhance weather resistance.

Summary: Waterproofing of rural electrical ready boards needs to be comprehensively optimized from three aspects: sealing, installation, and heat dissipation, in order to avoid the "headache treatment" approach. It is recommended to prioritize the procurement of professional waterproof electrical ready boards, and have them installed and maintained by electricians in accordance with regulations, in order to fundamentally reduce the risk of failure.
