Description of Sealing Cover Configuration for Backup Inlet of African Rural Lighting ready board

The outdoor environment in African rural areas is high temperature, strong sunshine, heavy sand and dust, concentrated rainstorm, and large temperature difference between day and night. The spare inlet of the lighting Ready Board Box must be equipped with a sealing cover as a key supporting part of the box protection. If the idle inlet is open, sand and dust will continue to accumulate on the busbar and terminals inside the box, forming conductive dirt after absorbing moisture, causing leakage and short circuits; Rainwater and condensation during the rainy season can directly pour into the box, corroding metal components and insulation, greatly increasing the risk of power distribution failures and electric shock.

The sealing cover should match the IP protection level of the box body, with priority given to using weather resistant PC material that is resistant to UV aging and prevents cracking due to exposure to sunlight. The cover plate adopts a screw compression or rubber sealing gasket structure to ensure the sealing of the fitting surface, and cannot be sealed with simple plastic sheets. The size of the spare hole opening should be consistent with the specifications of the sealing cover, and there should be no obvious gaps after installation, meeting the overall waterproof and dustproof requirements of the box.

During the construction and operation phase, the sealing cover of the lighting ready board should be supplied together with the box and cannot be temporarily cut or replaced on site. Before connecting the backup cable, the sealing cover must be fully locked; When adding new lines in the later stage, they will be dismantled, and after the renovation is completed, the remaining idle holes will still be sealed. At the same time, conduct regular inspections to check for any damage or looseness to the cover plate, and for any aging or detachment of the sealing ring.

This measure can reduce the failure rate of outdoor ready boards, reduce on-site maintenance costs, adapt to long-term unmanned distribution scenarios in rural Africa, and ensure stable lighting power supply and personnel safety.
