Rural Specific Lighting Split Meter Ready Board: Integrated Design For Lightning And Moisture Protection
In rural areas, dedicated lighting split meter ready boards face dual challenges of lightning and humid environments. The integrated design of lightning and moisture protection is crucial to ensure the safe and stable operation of the split meter ready board.
In terms of lightning protection design, the first step is to install lightning arresters to limit the entry of lightning current into the split meter ready board and prevent electrical equipment from being affected by overvoltage. Usually, lightning arresters are installed near lines or electrical equipment that are susceptible to lightning strikes. Their installation height is generally 8m to 10m, and the surrounding soil resistivity is not greater than 40 Ω· m. At the same time, surge protectors are installed at the outlet of the split meter ready board, and wiring is implemented according to three-level protection. The transmission distance between the equipment line and the lightning arrester is ≤ 10m, and the lead wires at both ends of the surge protector need to be kept the shortest to ensure that the maximum surge voltage is in a low state. In addition, reasonable down conductors should be set up, which should be led out along the casing of distribution transformers, overhead power line towers, etc., to minimize the number of down conductors as much as possible.
In terms of moisture-proof design, polymer moisture-proof sealing agents can be used to thoroughly seal the bottom and inlet of the split meter ready board to prevent moisture intrusion. For the distribution room located in the basement, the humidity requirement should be below 60%. A dehumidifier can be used in the distribution room to directly convert water vapor in the air into water and discharge it, achieving effective moisture prevention. The dehumidifier adopts a fully automatic computer control system, which does not require personnel to be on duty, and the humidity can be freely adjusted. At the same time, a rain cover should be installed on the split meter ready board to prevent rainwater from drifting into the box through the ventilation port. Dust filters should be installed on the ventilation window inside the box door to prevent mosquitoes and insects from entering.
Through the integrated design of lightning and moisture protection, the rural dedicated lighting split meter ready board can better adapt to the rural environment, ensure the stable operation of the lighting system, reduce faults and losses caused by lightning and humidity, and provide reliable lighting services for rural residents
