Do We Need To Design Reinforcement Bars For The Box Body Of Rural Lighting Electrical Ready Board With Bulkhead In Africa? How Should The Number And Layout Of Reinforcing Bars Be Set?

For rural environments in Africa, the box body of lighting electrical Ready Board Box with bulkhead needs to be designed with reinforcement ribs. This is mainly to address several practical challenges: poor road conditions in rural areas, and severe bumps during transportation that can easily cause box deformation; May face rough operation during installation; At the same time, the large temperature difference between day and night and strong sunlight can cause thermal expansion and contraction of the box material (especially metal or engineering plastic). Strengthening the ribs can effectively prevent the box from twisting and protect the internal electrical components.

Regarding the quantity and layout of reinforcing bars, it is recommended to set them according to different materials:

Metal casing (such as galvanized steel sheet):
Layout principle: Mainly adopts a reinforced structure of "surrounding+diagonal".
Specific setting: A closed reinforcing rib should be set around the door frame of the box to prevent the door from deforming and causing waterproof and dustproof failure. Usually, 1-2 horizontal or vertical "cross" shaped reinforcing ribs are installed on the back and side panels. If the size of the box is large (such as over 400mm x 500mm), it is recommended to add "X" - shaped or cross shaped reinforcement bars to enhance torsional strength and prevent box distortion caused by road bumps during transportation.

Engineering plastic box (such as ABS or polycarbonate):
Layout principle: Adopt a "grid based" design.
Specific setting: The rigidity of plastic is relatively weak compared to metal, and dense honeycomb or cross shaped reinforcement ribs need to be designed on the inner side of the backboard. The grid spacing is usually controlled between 50mm-80mm. Especially in the hinge installation position and locking position, it is necessary to add local radial reinforcement ribs, as this is the place where the door is subjected to the greatest force when opening and closing.

Suggestion: After the design is completed, it is recommended to verify the strengthening effect through simulated transportation vibration testing to ensure that the box can withstand the test of long-distance transportation in Africa.
